Hand and Wrist Surgery

Xray of Fractures

The hand and wrist are one of the most complex parts of the musculoskeletal system with many moving parts. These moving parts are able to glide freely due to the function of a specialized tissue in the hand called the tenosynovium. When this tissue becomes inflamed from over-use or enlarges due to advancing age, it can lead to the symptoms of trigger fingers, carpal tunnel syndrome, and De Quervain’s tenosynovitis. The majority of these problems can be managed with non-operative measures such as hand therapy and local injections. If these therapies are not effective, surgeries can offer permanent relief from symptoms. The Bay Area Bone & Joint Center offers both non-operative and surgical treatment for many different hand and wrist problems with treatments including:

  • Carpal tunnel syndrome
  • Carpal tunnel release / decompression surgery
  • Trigger finger treatments
  • Trigger finger release
  • Ganglion cyst drainage
  • Ganglion cyst excision
  • Basal joint arthritis treatment
  • Surgical treatment of Hand fractures
  • Surgical treatment of Wrist fractures
  • De Quervain’s tenosynovitis treatment and surgery
